Sea Glass Log Cabin Quilt

A new baby quilt in the colors of sea glass (I've seen pictures!). Palest of pale blues, greens, and turqoises. It if weren't a quilt, it would keep you cool.

Shopping is here, if you have a baby you need to buy for. Oh, and there's another pink quilt in the shop too!

Anna, I was wondering if you've blogged about your method for making log cabin quilts. Do you sew the "logs" onto a backing?

I am amazed at how quickly you turn out quilts. This one is gorgeous - the colour scheme is so serene.

Your log cabins are so beautiful! I really admire your talent for blending the colors so well.

Gillian, the piecing goes pretty quickly--especially compared to using three-inch squares! Then I give them to my mother to hand-quilt.

Rebecca, I piece the top separately. I will do a tutorial soon! Then I sandwich the top with batting and a back, and it gets quilted and hand-bound. Telling you all that makes me think I need to raise my prices! :)

Thank you to my buyers!!

Faster than the squares! Now, that's interesting.

Oh, so, sooo pretty. And that little bit of darker pink at the center of each square....just enough to puncuate things. It really is divine.

I had to laugh at your comment "if it weren't a quilt, it would keep you cool". We have a quilt that we keep in our family room area, along with a couple of wool blankets. My daughter does not like to feel anything scratchy or overly warm against her skin, & took to calling the quilt "the cold blanket." The name stuck, & we all call it that now!

Makes sense that it would be faster than the three-inch squares, since the pieces are bigger! (I am alllllmost done with a 3"-squares quilt myself - so close!) Maybe I'll have to try a log cabin next :-)

Such serene colors--my very favorite in all the world! Anna, I wonder if you have ever considered adding a fourth row of quilt blocks, so that the fortunate babies who are blessed with these quilts can use them all the way through toddlerhood?
