It had been leaning hard for many years. It *just* missed our house. We were sad to lose the tree but so many people were so grateful and happy to get that lovely hickory wood! Hopefully your tree may continue to bless others even after its downfall.
God's lessons are just never-ending aren't they.
Hugs to allseashoreknitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07313444169419481891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-69046131699389554132017-05-31T16:11:55.204-05:002017-05-31T16:11:55.204-05:00Looking again at how close your trees are to the h...Looking again at how close your trees are to the house reminds me of the October snowstorm we had a few years ago. Watching a tree in our yard leaning so close (it looked that way to us at night, but I don't think it was as bad as it seemed at the time) to our neighbor's house and nothing we could do about it - another which leaned so close to our back awning. I love trees and the more the better! But since then, I see their proximity in a different way.

LisateresaLisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12503930255842185609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-83178515027764286062017-05-30T22:51:20.476-05:002017-05-30T22:51:20.476-05:00I am so sorry! The aerial view really shows the enormity of that tree. Weather is frightening.

Dad had a huge water oak fall in Charleston a couple months ago. It miraculously missed cars, houses, and humans. (Truly a miracle based on where he lives--a street with many pedestrians.) Thank god it didnt fall on your house, and that you were safe.

In Australia our gumtrees are prone to dropping like that, some varieties are more likly to drop massive limbs completly out of the blue.
