So much better than the overly-salty dill pickles I made last week.Adiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11366092592887481823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-41183336229769011982011-07-20T13:52:13.192-05:002011-07-20T13:52:13.192-05:00when I first started canning, I naturally replicat...when I first started canning, I naturally replicated my mother's huge batches from my childhood and was so exhausted by a whole day's work. Took me a while to realize that I could do little batches here and there, as I needed to use up something we weren't going to eat right away. Jelly is perfect for little batches. I still do corn and tomatoes in whole-day blowouts.Margohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16345165456341197559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-75139469237774683892011-07-20T10:15:32.937-05:002011-07-20T10:15:32.937-05:00I love making jams and jellies - this year we *nee...I love making jams and jellies - this year we *need* more apple butter so I'm just waiting for the orchards to open for pick your own!Heather Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13563913535839786305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-57940298578018464032011-07-20T08:59:17.555-05:002011-07-20T08:59:17.555-05:00Brings back memories of all the wonderful jams my ...Brings back memories of all the wonderful jams my mother-in-law used to make; our favourite was peach. The kids and I just love homemade jams and jellies... I made a red wine peach preserves last year and it is really delicious. Especially if you use it as a filling for pancakes! I've never made peach jam though......it sounds wonderful!

~KateKatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01172071642218751081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-82153539550329137192011-07-20T07:30:25.340-05:002011-07-20T07:30:25.340-05:00please share the recipe!

Shelley, maybe you made more than one batch? Each batch takes about five minutes to prep (chopping the fruit), then no more than fifteen minutes on the burner, then we load the jars.Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10747223126169684757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-21186003674723294912011-07-20T06:20:47.663-05:002011-07-20T06:20:47.663-05:00Good job, Clara! The house we rented when we first moved there gave me my first, and sadly only, experience of an enormous apricot tree. It was like your worst zucchini experience x 10. I totally loved the jam I made, but I seem to remember a whole day at hot work. What is the one-hour secret, please?Shelleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10239488936038510294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-64714141261951906442011-07-20T03:01:26.074-05:002011-07-20T03:01:26.074-05:00I enjoyed some peach jam this cold July morning, i...I enjoyed some peach jam this cold July morning, it's nice to see Clara's at the end of this cold day.Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14751315680374413649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-65572926894686384712011-07-20T02:30:46.124-05:002011-07-20T02:30:46.124-05:00I love how little that one is in front!
