Knowing next to nothing about growing ferns, last summer I brought back several clumps from my childhood home and neighborhood in Pennsylvania to our home in Ontario. I stuck the sorry-looking clumps in the ground and babied them the rest of the year. A few weeks ago, the new fiddleheads were just emerging and the fence guys showed up.
