She didnt pass away til I was 16 but I was not a lemon fan so I guess it never appealed to me. Anyway my dad has now since passed away. My mom also says this was a great cake. Her recipe was similar, but she always left the grated lemon rind in her lemon "cheese" and her cake was 4 or 5 layers. I didn't appreciate it as a child but boy do I wish I had! I favored the yellow cake with chocolate icing. She always made them in a rectangle cake pan with 3 layers. She always made lemon cheese, yellow with chocolate icing, white on white, and coconut. She was a southern belle to the very core. She died when I was 13 and even though I have all her treasured recipes I can't use them because she wrote them in her own short hand. : )Emily, wife of Jeremyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08360539511458704694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-53432297145964295232012-02-29T07:56:02.879-06:002012-02-29T07:56:02.879-06:00I want that cake! This looks delicious, and the curd is the color it should be because the eggs are the color they should be! :-) I can't bear store-bought eggs any more because they are so anemic-looking (I really want if there is much nutritional value in them), but thankfully I can get eggs from friends and family who keep chickens, too.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06469299112021260475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16182378.post-72051053156776571042012-02-27T22:53:08.203-06:002012-02-27T22:53:08.203-06:00We have lemon curd cake in the UK.
