So the Composer says my sleeves look like they're extruding index cards, but I don't care! I think I'm cute! These sleeves are crazy--the fronts and backs are separate pieces joined until they get to the cuffy thing. Non-functioning buttons.
But can we talk about the yoke? Because that gets five stars. I did it in plaid, but I love the embroidery transfers included in the pattern. And the piped collar!
The green fabric is a great-condition cotton percale bedsheet from the fifties!
This is adorable! I think your sleeves are cute, too. Hopefully your Composer doesn't mind too much!

ReplyDeleteThe Composer & my husband have a lot in common. My engineer would have said the same thing--or at least something very similar. But I've already been ordered not to wear my favorite housedress in his presence. So I have to use it during daylight hours and then modernize myself as evening falls.

ReplyDeleteI am surprised you do not own....that I know of....a vintage Singer machine. Talk about getting in touch with the 50's! I have quite a few and they sew like a dream. They don't make em like they used to. I enjoy your blog.
