I had a little piece of brown linen left over from my dress, and I had a very old Children's Corner pattern, and I had some vintage buttons the color of coffee candies.
A perfect dress for the warm days of fall, especially with red tights and a pink sweater. Sets off Daisy's autumn-fairy qualities, I think.
This made just a precious little dress!! Perfect for Daisy and the collar and little sleeves are just so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe tights and sweater will work great with it!! She is so cute!!!!

I love it! Mary Brooke
ReplyDeleteJust love this! ADORABLE! :) A sweet new friend of mine is going to teach me to sew! I'm so excited!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I went to a fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville in 2002. I bid on a silent auction item for several gift certificates for childrens clothing stores. When I went to the Children's Corner to redeem my certificate for an outfit for my newborn girl, I found that it was a sewing shop instead of children's clothes. I did not even know how to sew a button on my husband's shirt. Looking around the shop at the darling clothes and beautiful fabrics, I became hooked. I signed up for a class in beginner sewing and a class in smocking. For Christmas I asked for a sewing machine. You can imagine the rest of the story. Now I am overrun with fabric and patterns. The Children's Corner is simply the best-the people and the patterns. I really enj0oyed the dress you made.
ReplyDeleteSuch a delight!

Beautiful! How lovely to be making frocks for little girls. Not work....pure pleasure
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. Especially lovely with Daisy's messy hairdo and her bare feet...
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern, I have made similiar ones for my Lydia. Love the big peter pan collars:-)
ReplyDeleteClaire, I love your beginning to sew story!
ReplyDeleteI love the color and the collar. She looks adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love it! She looks like she just stepped out of a storybook!
ReplyDeleteLittle joys...that's what little girls are! What a darling and what a sweet, sweet dress! I always adore the things that you sew!

I love the dress, but I love the doll hanging upside down even better!

That is so precious! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThat color suits her very well - and you always seem to have the perfect buttons for everything!
ReplyDeleteLovely dress for your beautiful girl! That color is wonderful for her.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or did Miss Daisy not really want to pose for these pictures? It seems to me that her expression and position, combined with the hanging down dolly betray it. :)
What a sweet dress... and love the photo with Bitty too.
ReplyDeleteShe looks darling in everything, but this pattern is particularly sweet.
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love it! Almost makes me wish for a girl to make dresses for!
ReplyDeleteThat is sweetness!
ReplyDeleteIt will be perfect with a sweater and tights!
It suits her I think.
Oh my goodness. Oh how do you stand it.
ReplyDeletethat's adorable! i want one in my size!
ReplyDeleteI love it! My daughter has an older look about her in her face, so I really want her to wear clothes that are younger--also braids help too! My daughter is also 7, but I think she might be taller than Daisy.. hard to tell.
