Daisy Catches Dinner
Yes, Daisy *actually* caught the fish we ate at dinner.
Grandpa took her and Bella out in the boat today. The boat has a long and checkered past and it generally breaks down while it's out in the lake, even when it's just been repaired. Or sometimes Grandpa just forgets to put the plug in the bottom. Either way.
I think the kids would be disappointed if the boat *didn't* break down.
They were out for five hours this afternoon, because the engine quit out in the middle of the lake. Fortunately there was the trolling motor. Which runs on a little battery. After that there was an oar. But somewhere in all of that, Daisy caught three fish.
Oh, my! What a tasty treat! Daisy you did good! What kind of fish were they? Sounds to me like you found a good fishing spot.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I'm glad they enjoy the adventure of breaking down! The fish look tasty, although I'm still not sold on the efficacy of mommy knowing how to clean fish, although if I am to be a fisherwoman I must learn.
ReplyDeleteYum! Way to go, Daisy.
ReplyDeleteOh Anna, what a giggle I've been having. I saw your post title in Google Reader and clicked to view thinking, "Knowing Daisy it could be anything from a bison to a rabbit!" Hope that the fish was enjoyed by all and that no-one was socked for taking more than their share. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnna~
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful memory...bet those 5 hours will remain precious for a life time.

ReplyDeleteEvery time I ever went fishing there was also a nautical disaster, but I never caught any fish to make up for it. So congratulations, Daisy!
