A Blue Saturday with Bella

Just the two of us today!

After the storms passed we went for our runs--3 miles for her on hills, 5 for me on the flat.

She read her book. I transplanted hydrangeas.

She made me a cake. I made her a dress.

  7. WE had severs storms pass by us too last night. I think we are in the same area of the country more or less. I live in Mt. Airy, NC. Can you share with me what state you are in? Many of your post speak of places I am familiar with.

  10. What a luscious looking cake slice! May I ask if the frosting is homemade? If so, would Bella be willing to share her recipe? Thank you!

  11. Yes, I'm 40 now!

Frosting: I think I've posted this go-to buttercream before. It's 1/3 c. softened butter, 2 c. powdered sugar, 1 t. vanilla, 1/3 c. cocoa, and 2 or so T water. To get it nice and fluffy, use the electric mixer.

Dress will show up this week--it's gorgeous.

  12. Anna, Happy Birthday! You don't look a day over 32! May the Lord bless you always!

And thank you for sharing that recipe. I'm just going to copy it into a document and save it. I always forget to do that. Thanks again!

  15. Hi, I tried posting this before I don't think it worked, so I'll give it another try ...

Just wanted to say that I love your blog, Anna. I really don't even know you, but your blog was passed on to me by a co-worker. Looking at your beautiful photos and creations is a bright spot in my day.

Thank you for your thoughtfulness and creativity!
