Butter Yellow Walls for Clara

Now just the baseboards are left to do, and the painting will be finished.

White linen curtains are made and hung . . . . it's dreamy up there.

  1. Lovely choice! Yellow can be hard...you did great!! Love the colorful granny-square afghan, too!

  3. Pretty! I love the color of the walls. Your blanket looks lovely as well. I hope you will share more when the room is finished.

  4. My daughter painted her room a very similar color. It's so sunny and cheerful, it makes me feel happy every time I go in there! For her windows, we ordered some red and yellow printed saris for about $7 each and hung them as curtain panels, and I made a colorful batik printed duvet cover for her bed. So cute! Yellow is so versatile!

  5. Beautiful. It looks very cozy and inviting! Did she help pick the color?
Wondering if she went with a new color palate or always has loved yellow?

  6. My living room is about the same colour -- what great taste we have Clara.

  7. Kimmie, the color was her pick, and she's been a yellow girl from way back.

  8. Perfect color! Maybe that's the color I should do my kitchen! I was leaning toward a lighter shade of avocado, but I think the butter yellow would be quite suitable.

  9. Lovely color for Clara's room. I thought of you this past week when our neighbors barn red house was swarmed by a German Baptist painting crew in their black trousers and dark blue shirts. Such industry and serious labor. We're holding our breath to see if it's going to be barn red again but for now the quiet sounds of scraping an priming are ongoing. So did your crew finish up the exterior of your schoolhouse home? I don't think this crew will be receiving anything lovely to drink to keep them cool each day like your workers were blessed with.

  11. That is almost the exact shade that I am planning to paint our new kitchen! Love it!

  12. I have never regretted painting our living room light yellow - even in hot weather, which I thought would bother me. It's so pleaaant and cheerful.
