I get the news I need on the weather report;
I can gather all the news I need on the weather report.
Hey, I've got nothing to do today but smile.
Here I am, the only living boy in New York.
Hey, let your honesty shine now
(like it shines on me)
The only living boys in New York . . . .
(Paul Simon, thanks for today's captions)
Thanks for mentioning Simon and Garfunkel. I was an oddball and loved them and Paul Simon's solo albums in high school in the early 90s. Just the other day my 16 year old son asked "Who was your favorite artist when you were my age,Mom?". I got out my Paul Simon "Graceland" tape and played it for him. He looked at me bewildered and said "Are you serious, Mom?" That album of course led me to love Ladysmith Black Mambazo's music also. Thank you for the smile!

So grown up on their own in the big city.. why do images of Mary Tyler Moore throwing her hat up in the air keep running through my mind
ReplyDeleteWere gonna make it after alllll
Oh wow! New York!
ReplyDeleteDoes Felix have maybe an inch or two on Giles? :)
Gosh they are so tall and grown-up looking! The photo of Felix in times square is so funny--that was exactly my expression there too.
ReplyDeleteLove Simon and Garfunkel!
It looks like they had a great time together. I grew up there and now live about an hour outside the city. It always makes me happy to see it through other's eyes!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Bridge Over Troubled Water

ReplyDeleteLove the mouth agape in wonder. My feelings exactly, no matter how many times. And Paul Simon is most appropriate.
