I keep reading that peplums are big this year. Aren't you clever! Clara's figure can handle a peplum beautifully. That color is great too - looks more like a marine blue on my screen. I love that paired with deep old gold (a pair of flats or a bag, maybe?).
Colleen, I used to buy them on ebay, then I decided I have enough (!). So now I only buy extra-special wonderful ones from Lanetzliving.com. Also, sometimes wonderful blog readers send me some. I adore this one!
I love all these dresses you make for yourself and your girls! My oldest is tall and thin like your Clara and I always envision her in those dresses. I am a beginning sewer (as in I've taken the sewing machine out of the box...). I love vintage clothing, and I am anxious to sew practical and beautiful things right away. Do you have any patterns you would recommend for beginners to gather experience while still making something lovely? Thank you!
Ooh, quite novel. I love those sleeve cuffs! Always inspired by your sewing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute outfit! I'm going to have to try and find that pattern somewhere too!
ReplyDeleteClara looks beautiful - gorgeous suit.
ReplyDeleteOh! Isn't that just the bees-knees!
ReplyDeleteSmashing!
Great looking suit and Clara looks wonderful and very grown-up in it. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteOhh, I love it! Both the pattern language (I have such a fondness for those descriptions) and the finished product. It looks lovely on Clara!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! She will be the best dressed girl on campus!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful smart outfit- looks superb in the blue too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm a long time reader, first time commenter....where do you find your vintage patterns?

ReplyDeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteClara, you are simply stunning in that blue! And, Anna, the dress and your daughter are both beautiful.
ReplyDeleteClara looks exquisite! (in MD)
ReplyDeleteStunning! Beautiful color, great style - it doesn't scream vintage, simply classic style. Great job!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I hope she has a pair of navy and white spectator pumps.

ReplyDeleteHave a look at this dress: etsy/capricious traveler/1950's green gables dress. I think it would suit Clara perfectly.
