Bella with the Dewberries
Bella's got half the evening's take of dewberries. It was a good night--no wasp stings, or snakes, just one humble stray dog. By the way, Bella doesn't like to smile for the camera. She really does like picking berries.
Are dewberries the same thing as blackberries?
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother'd Day, friend!
I think they're really close, but ripen two months earlier. Happy Mother's Day to you too!
ReplyDeleteDo they taste the same as blackberries?
DeleteThank you! My stepchildren called me Mom for the first time! That was the best gift ever!
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering now. :)
What a gorgeous girl! (Even without a smile! P;)
ReplyDeleteWe don't have dewberries where I live, but they look delicious!
They do look an awful lot like our wild black raspberries, but those are ripe in late June or so.

Dewberries bloom earlier and also grow low to the ground. They don't grow into large bushes like blackberries
ReplyDeleteI've got the itch to start scouring the hedgerows for this new-to-me berry. My mouth is watering!
ReplyDeleteOk, Now I know what dewberries are...we call them wild blackberries as well ;-)
ReplyDeleteI think they look like 'mulberries' that I picked as a kid in an empty parking lot by my house!
