Embroidered Napkins

I've been working on this set of embroidered napkins to give as a wedding gift in a couple of weeks. I bid (ebay) on ten plain linen napkins to use, then did the iron-on transfers in different fruits.

The pear:

Watermelon slice and a bunch of cherries:

Grapes with a tendril:

Just two more to go! I've run out of different fruit designs so I'm going to use the lemon again as a lime, and the pear again done in pear green. Such fun!

  1. that would be so cute put in a basket with kitchen things. An apron for her, maybe a bread pan, a teacup, some cute and colorful utensils, something like that, and a cookbook.
    Very cute towels!

Where do you get your iron-on transfers? I really like the simple look they have.

Those are really pretty! Very simple (meaning the style) and eloquent. :-)

  6. Dictionary Time.

I used the word "eloquent" to describe my thoughts on your napkins....I saw somone else used "elegant" and I thought perhaps I made a word up.....but I didn't. (Mommy brain). Eloquent means "movingly expressive". Your napkins moved me....they are very pretty. So I think I used it in the correct context. hee hee.

  10. I got my transfers from my new "Sublime Stitching" book which comes with lots and lots of cute transfers. And yes, you can use each one multiple times--nice for making a set.
