Apple Pie
Clara and Bella made an apple pie all by themselves. Bella did the crust from scratch while Clara prepped the filling. All Granny Smiths, all goodness.
Isn't it wonderful when your daughters learning to cook? I enjoy cooking with my girls, and the times when my girls have cooked the whole meal! What a blessing to the whole family.
I think we may have to make a pie today. My husband loves apple pie and would be so delighted to find one waiting, when he gets home!
Good for them, and so nice for all of you! If you feel like it, Anna, I'd been tagged to list 8 random facts/habits about myself, and I'd love to tag you now.
I found your post and thought I’d reach out to say hello and ask if you’d like to receive a free Maya & Miguel DVD. If you’d like to receive the DVD just email me at Kerri at boldmouth.com with your address and I’ll have it shipped it out to you.
I don’t know if you’re familiar with Maya & Miguel, a show on PBS in the afternoons -- http://pbskidsgo.org/mayaandmiguel -- that emphasizes cultural diversity and language learning but I’m reaching out to talk to parents about the program as part of a marketing project I’m working on with Scholastic.
If you do choose to blog about Maya & Miguel show or episodes on the DVD, please make it clear how you received the information. Our goal is to be open and honest with everyone we reach.
It looks so delicious. Do you have a favorite apple pie recipe you could share? I run into a problem where my pie ends up with too much liquid on the bottom and the apples are drowning in it! Any tips would be much appreciated! Lyn
Mmmm ... such a light, flaky crust and rich filling! Very nice! I wish my mum had allowed me to try my hand at pie making at your girls ages - perhaps I wouldn't be totally intimidated by pie making at 40! I have found a crust recipe that *always* works now, so it is a little less stressful, but I've yet to say "Easy as pie" and mean it the way my mum can!
