Down
Shuffling through the second day of a nasty bout of food poisoning--on Monday the Composer and Giles and I all took part in a commercial shoot and ate lunch on the set. Tuesday night we were all down and wretched. A few phone calls confirmed that the culprit was indeed the tray of fresh fruit. Horrors.
We spent yesterday sleeping and whining. Early this morning the two guys left for Giles' last college trip, this one to California. Looking on the bright side, Giles noted that having slept all day and being totally disoriented, he was ready to land in any time zone and feel right at home.
My little ladies and Felix have been good and helpful. Yesterday we printed out some glorious coloring sheets from Jan Brett's website (thanks Bethgem), and today Clara made play dough for Daisy. I believe the light is gleaming faintly at the end of the tunnel.
Was it the cantaloupe? I saw on the news that cantaloupe was recently found to be contaminated. :(
ReplyDeleteFood poisoning is such a horrid and unexpected thing -- you don't expect food to cause such pain. I hope you are all feeling better soon, and that Giles's visit to the college is successful!
ReplyDeleteIn Christ,
Shannon
Oh my goodness--it was canteloupe!!! EEEWWW.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're all feeling 100% in no time flat Anna. Food poisoning is just awful!
ReplyDeleteGoodness! I hope you all are on the mend now.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I have to read up on the cantaloupe ... my oldest (9) ate 1/4 of one at breakfast and the other 1/4 at lunch. Argh....
Jan Brett is the greatest according to my children. We look forward to her monthly e-mails. I hope you are feeling much better.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the fruit had been cut and sitting too long? Hope you all feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh........Anna.......uck. I really am hoping you are ALL feeling better. I know exactly how you feel too. Once, when I was in Boston on a business trip, we went to this Italian place. I decided to order fish (of all things!) and then guess what....about 4 hours later I was...well....getting to know the hotel bath very well. I thought I was going to die. I too, had to catch a flight in day two of my dreadful experience and I thought I was going to die again.
ReplyDeleteI made it though.....never to eat fish again and especially in an Italian resturant. oooooooooh. blah.
I've experiencing food poisoning three times in my life and each time was just horrendous. I'm so sorry the three of you went through that.
ReplyDeleteOh no! That is just horrendous and I'm so sad to hear the news. What a blessing to have helpers, not to mention a well-run home with a good mommy so the kids know what to do at times like these. Prayers are with you all.
ReplyDeleteEwwww, food poisoning! You poor things. :-( I dearly hope that you all feel better...I've never experienced it before but my father and I are both sick with terrible colds/flu so I share your sickness-pain.
ReplyDeleteIt's bad enough for one, I can't imagine the entire family being down! I hope you are feeling better today. :)
ReplyDeleteOh how awful, hope you are all on the mend and Giles trip is a good one. I am sure the girls took good care of you all!
ReplyDeleteKelly
Hope you all feel better quickly!
ReplyDeleteUGH!!! I hate when I have food poisoning, which, oddly and most unfortunately, happens to me rather a lot. I definitely feel your pain, and I am very glad you all feel better!
