Bella's fabric arrived in the mail--a cotton sateen with a little stretch. It has a much sturdier, less drapey hand than Clara's cotton and rayon blend, which makes the dress hang differently.
More castle, less cottage.
She does appear to be channelling a duchess.
I admire that.
And the way she wears her great-grandmother's necklace.
She's beautiful, Anna. and the dress is gorgeous too.
ReplyDeletebe blessed,
jodi
I love the fabric and the color on her is beautiful. She looks very pretty.
ReplyDeleteShe is just beautiful, and what a pretty dress too. :) I love the necklace as well, how sweet.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Adams
I love how the dress hangs. And, Bella has beautiful, pure skin.

ReplyDeleteYour daughters' dresses are all beautiful! Do please take a picture with all three of them together, so we can see how beautifully they coordinate and how pretty they look together.

Gorgeous fabric choice! She does look regal.
ReplyDeleteLovely Bella. A perfect dress for a beautiful girl.
ReplyDeleteBella is so beautiful. The necklace looks lovely on her, as does the dress. She is regal, indeed! And, please, can I have her amazing hair?
ReplyDeleteShe looks so regal and elegant!
ReplyDeleteA sophisticated combination that completely compliments Bella. The lovely brown with the white dots, and the subtle reiteration in the pearls. Elegant.
ReplyDeleteMy compliments to the seamstress and pretty model.

Bella is Beautiful! My ten year old asked me if I could make her a dress like Clara's, now she wants one like Bella's! I have years of practice ahead of me as I've just started sewing for the first time since 7th grade home economics class.
ReplyDeleteI have so enjoyed seeing your beautiful girls in their lovely dresses. Your sewing is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteShe is a stunning young woman. :) She makes that dress what it is. I have 4 boys and one on the way - so I must admire your girls!!! LOL :)
ReplyDeletethe hair!the hair! ever since I was young, I have dreamed of adopting a little African-American girl so I could play with her hair.... You have done a beautiful job..raising her with confidence and beauty.

ReplyDeleteRenee
oh how beautiful! (the girl and the dress) I am such a sucker for polka dots too. It borders on obsession...
ReplyDeleteYou do such a justice to that pattern that I might finally pull it out and try it.
She's beautiful and the dress is lovely as well. Stunning!!
ReplyDeleteAnna,
ReplyDeleteI concur with another comment-- will you share a photo of all three girls in their dresses? Maybe one with their lovely mama, too? (Go Giles, go!)
Have a blessed weekend. You and your family are in my prayers as you celebrate this first holiday without your dear grandmother and all of the sweet memories that will flow.
Peace,
Lynne in NC
I want a camera like Giles' everyone he takes a picture of looks absolutely gorgeous from preschooler to... Mommie. My pictures never quite ... humm maybe I just need Giles.
ReplyDeleteBella is elegant! I love the way she looks and I love her name -- it fits her: beautiful!
Miss Meg
How adorable! Wow, she's got dreads already. :-D
ReplyDeleteAnna,
ReplyDeleteCould you share with us how beautiful Bella became a part of your family?
WOW, I looove that pattern in that stiff fabric, I like the way you describe it as more "castle-like". It creates a whole different look.
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning! The dress and the daughter and the combination of the two:-).
ReplyDeleteStunning! The pearls are perfect with the dress' hue & her skin tone. Funny how different fabrics change the results. Well done on all your daughters' dresses. You have raised the bar, Anna. I'm hoping to make more elegant frocks for my dears for Christmas. But for now they will enjoy their simple sundresses.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Leslie
She is stunning!
ReplyDeleteBella is a beautiful girl and I love Giles photos.
ReplyDeleteShe is breath taking!
ReplyDeleteI love this dress on Bella. I love Bella in this dress... Well, I simply love it all. It's what drew me to your blog from the Sense & Sensibility site and I'm now an almost regular reader, although I'm not a regular commenter. I was not disappointed, but this still holds a high place... Great photos. Tell Giles. I suppose everyone tells him...
ReplyDeleteGreat Hair with New Look Clothing dress.
