The other half is desperately grieving for dear friends who lost their 19-year old son this morning.
It seems very odd to be frosting a cake and gathering swim towels.
Wordless for now, except for this from Psalm 65:
How blessed is the one whom Thou dost choose, and bring near to Thee,
To dwell in Thy courts.
We will be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house,
Thy holy temple.
such grief. i hope your friends can feel the hand of God today.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for your friends, Anna.
ReplyDeleteAnna, I just opened my newspaper to see a local boy has died at high school football camp. Then I go to see your blog. Looks like a lot of prayers are needed today.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry, for your grief, and most definitely for theirs. The family is in my prayers for strength and healing.
ReplyDeletePrayers going up for the family and for your family as well.. Such a terrible loss.
ReplyDeleteAnna,
ReplyDeleteSo often we do not understand Gods ways or his timing. I always remind myself at times like these that His ways are so much higher and better than my. The finite can never understand the infinite. God is good all the time. We will keep both your family and this precious family in our prayers.
praying that they know the Lord, and feel his presence mightily today, and rest in his promises for the days to come that will be so dark....
ReplyDeletePraying Anna.....
ReplyDeleteSympathy for your friends yet joy for the Lord! We will pray for your friends grief to be soothed by the Lords presence.
ReplyDeleteThere really aren't words Anna - except His words. The ones you have chosen are so comforting.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry.....and praying.
ReplyDeleteSending prayers for all grieving over this loss. There are no words, but His words.
ReplyDeleteThe psalms are perfect, and a great comfort to be well acquainted with them.
ReplyDelete*prayers*
ReplyDeleteI totally understand you're feelings. One of the boyscouts killed in Iowa a month ago was the son of friends or ours. It was odd to go about life while grieving for them.
ReplyDeleteloss always makes our hearts ache, but for some one close to loose a dear one grieves us more. When we have children the same age it hits home even harder. Praying for your friend.
ReplyDeleteAnna, so sorry about your loss and saying a prayer for this family. I've just been studying Psalm 84 - "better is one day in your courts than a thousand outside" - and finding comfort there. One of my sons is also in the house of the Lord, where God has wiped every tear away and they are singing "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty."
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your friends loss. My prayers are going out for the family. I just got an e-mail that a father at our school (age 45) suddenly passed away. Many prayers are needed today.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry, Anna. What a heartbreaking loss. Prayers to your friends, may God envelop them in his grace and peace.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Dear Anna.
ReplyDeleteI've said a prayer for your friends.
Laura
I will be praying for your friends today!

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry....there's no other heartache. May they trust in Him through this valley of pain...
Oh my, such a small world. Here in Wheaton we are praying for the same family. God's family is so large, and his love is infinitely larger.
