Footed Milk Glass in the Bathroom

I never pass by these at the thrift store because: look!

They do all my bathroom countertop storage. Makeup, cotton swabs, toothbrush and toothpaste.

I love this shallow footed dish. With a layer of small river rocks, it makes a fine soap dish.

Hope I haven't bought up all the milk glass in town; it's been a little thin at the thrift store lately. Hope they have giant stashes of it put away until after Christmas. That's it, a January white sale!

  1. I love milk glass, too! Unfortunately now I have more than I know what to do with, and with a terribly accident-prone almost 2 year old boy, it's all tucked away for safe keeping for now....

  2. What a lovely picture. So elegant and perfectly useful, yet found in a thrift store. I bought a square milk glass container at a thrift store for pennies the other day. It has a shell motif, and now it holds my husband's toothbrush and paste.

  3. Excellent! I use the vases (thanks to your nudging--you're right, they're great in groupings) but need to Think Outside the Vase. These footed beauties really are great.

  5. What a beautiful idea! I've so enjoyed going through your blog. It's such a reminder that in the chaos of homeschooling 3 boys and teaching music, my life can still be beautiful.

  6. What a great idea! I've never been the biggest milk glass fan, however your ideas have me thinking otherwise. I even bought a small milk glass lamp, but have yet to decide where it wil go...

  17. Great idea for the soapdish! When we go to the beach, I pick up pebbles because they're so beautiful. Now I can make a soapdish in any container I have. Brilliant.

  18. How cool...I have lots of milk glass that I use this way too. All of mine are pieces that I got from my grandmother.
I use them for my makeup, for potpouri, on my jewelry box for odds and ends of jewelry. I just love the stuff!!!

  19. Oh I have found someone else that loves milk glass, I have a large collection of milk glass myself and like you I cannot pass a thrift store without stopping and picking a piece or two or three!!!! My family thinks I have an addiction to it but I beg to differ, it just draws itself to me and won't stay on the shelf I say, and what to do after all I do have to leave the store at some point!!! Blessings, Diana
