The apple tree is flowering abundantly this spring. So beautiful against the sky morning, noon, and evening!
This little-known shrub is kerria japonica. Very generous with its flowers right now in the lull after the forsythia, very easy to grow, and lives in the shade. I have a graceful curved hedge of it outside my bedroom window, all started from a little sprig given by a friend.
If only they lasted forever!
Oh look at all that yellow! It's not even yellow so much as golden like each bloom is full of sunshine.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely breathtaking! Gosh, I love spring.

Gorgeous little flowers! They look like they'd be nice for a dried floral arrangement.
ReplyDeleteThe lull after forsythia? Our forsythia hasn't even bloomed yet up in zone 5 in Michigan. :( *sigh*
ReplyDeleteWow! If you can believe it, I woke up to 4 inches of snow this morning!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! So glad that spring is coming.
ReplyDeleteA blessed, happy Easter to you.
Such beauty!
ReplyDeletePretty ...japonica is one of my garden favorites. I have a bush that my mom gave to me, an offshoot of her beautiful bush.

ReplyDeleteThat shrub definitely says SPRING IS HERE.
ReplyDeleteWow, my mother had the kerria japonica. We never knew the name. It certainly is lovely in bloom!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
The yellow flowers look a lot like a Lady Banks rose. Very lovely.
