Yesterday Bella sang her first auditions ever, for the soprano recitatives in
The Messiah. "There were shepherds abiding" through "And suddenly there was with the angel", for those of you who know the piece.
Fireworks.
When she finished, the choir director said "You're twelve?" Then she looked sternly over her glasses at me. "Does anyone else know about this?" she demanded.
That's what I'm saying.
In other news, don't forget to check the
shop for books and a girl's blouse!
Here's why.
I love, LOVE the choir director's question. And the photograph of beautiful Bella.
ReplyDeleteOh, I soooo wish I could hear her! Love you, Proud Mama (and rightfully so)!
ReplyDeleteI love this post!
ReplyDeleteCan't you do a youtube video or something for us poor mortals who really want to hear the lovely Bella?! ;-) Congrats! I'm sure your Mama heart must sing!
ReplyDeleteYes! I was going to ask what Hope Anna asked...can't you post a you-tube or something for those of us who can't stand not hearing her?
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!

ReplyDeleteand that is a beautiful photo... :)
What a wonderful family you are raising! Thank you and God bless you both.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, talented Daughter you have and what a blessing that the Lord gave her to you! And what a greater blessing still that you gave her up the Lord and His hand is on her life.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, a second (or third or whatever) the motion for an audio or video of her singing.
Such a sweet post. What a beautiful girl! Wish I could hear her voice! {grin}
ReplyDeleteI got to sing those once! I was sixteen, though. Not twelve! I love The Messiah. My favorite is "How Beautiful are the Feet". Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting....so lovely when their gifts are discovered.
ReplyDeleteIt would be awesome to hear her.
Wow! There are many three times Bella's age that have a hard time with those soprano recitatives - they are tough! Kudos to her for such courage to audition...she is such a talented young lady and such a blessing to your family! God's blessings to all of you!

Oh, I love it! I'm so happy for Bella (and for you her proud mom). Yay! Don't you just LOVE moments like that in your kid's life? :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Anna - how thrilling! I also wish you'd do a youtube thing, but it doesn't sound like the choir director necessarily wants to share this talent yet. :O And what a photo - Bella looks more mature suddenly.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for you! You should be as proud as peacock.....
ReplyDeleteDefinitely needs a youtube..
Yay Bella! She seems to be a very gifted young lady on many levels. Good for her! Good for you! Good for all of us!! I'm glad she is willing to share her talents.
