I liked the restrained use of blackberries and the elegant reliance on a perfect crust in this dessert. It's from Nigella, of course.
Perfect crust. I never thought I'd need to use *those* words. My crusts are always tasty, but messy. I'm passing the baton to Bella.
You have got me seriously thinking I've got to get that Nigella cookbook. Is it the one about being a Domestic Goddess in the title?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations dear Bella for for mastering both phyllo and crusts! I have yet to try either. As the previous commenter asked as well, which Nigella book did the recipe originate from?
ReplyDeletelooks more like a cookie!
ReplyDeleteI've been very impressed with the baked goods Bella makes. They look like the pictures in a good cookbook. Julia Child has a baking show that she might like on PBS.
ReplyDeleteRight--that's How to Be a Domestic Goddess. It has really proved itself to be a useful one. We've found lots of favorites in it.
ReplyDeleteI vote for Bella for the next TV chef! And could she come visit our house for a week? Or a month?! I don't know, though, since we have all been gaining weight on those fried corn patties she made and you shared LOL! Seriously, for her age, or any age, she is an awesome chef!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anna! I have that book on hold at the library and can't wait for it to come in! I checked out her "Feast" book and look forward to reading it and possibly using some Thanksgiving recipes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna! I'll be on the lookout for the book at the library.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about crusts! Mine taste really good, but are so messy....some people have the gift!
ReplyDeleteI think it is now Bella's duty and moral obligation to share her crust recipe/method. Consider this a way to better her fellow chefs!
ReplyDeleteha ha - I recognize the messy, but tasty crust! That's how mine are!
ReplyDeleteSo impressed with Bella. I bet this is a career in bud. . .
I covet Bella.. or is it that I covet you for having Bella?!?!? LOL I want a Bella of my own!!! :)
