You know, it's just like summer. The house is endlessly filled with (happy) teenagers, the food flies out of the refrigerator as fast as I load it in, the dishwasher is always running and the laundry defies description.
I catch my breath where I can find it. An early-morning run. Earl Gray tea and a chocolate square. A few minutes at the sewing machine.
I know of what you speak. It is wonderful having them all home, but seems like so much more work than before they left, doesn't it? Still, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
ReplyDeleteAnd here it is summer. :) I hope you enjoy this time, the lake pictures are enchanting.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine the sounds of your home humming with the sounds of food, fellowship and fun!
ReplyDeletePeace.
Sounds good, Anna - I'm sure you're loving it.
ReplyDeleteOh, Anna, thank you for the picture of the roses this morning, it is so chilly and dreary outside.
ReplyDeleteMay God bless you and your family in this coming year. I look forward to seeing more of your fabulous sewing skills, Bella's wonderful cooking, Daisy's delightful whimsy, Clara's crafting and fiber arts, Giles photos, Felix's progress as an ornithologist, and the adventures that the family takes.
Happy New Year to your family. One month ago we were blessed with child number six. In that time, you ran a marathon and participated in The Messiah. Have you done a recap on those? I'd enjoy reading about it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteyes, as you know, i have 4 on a constant bsis, 6 every 2 weekends. Oh ,I am there! (twilight zone?) I too must catch my breath! Blessings,

How true! Just last night I chuckled to myself at the sound of several pairs of boots going up and down the stairs. It sounded more like a herd of horses instead of group of teenage boys dropping by for a visit.
ReplyDeleteI only have one toddler and I still rely heavily on the refreshment of my earl grey and square of dark chocolate!
ReplyDeletePolly, in their own ways, single toddlers are just as demanding as a whole houseful of older kids.
ReplyDeleteThis small moment of paradise will end for my on January 1. We will drop off our youngest at university again. Empty nest but not empty heart.
ReplyDeletehow do you keep teenagers happy?.. how do you keep homeschooled children from being bored and break the grind of turning to tv for entertainment?.. I home school and find the cold, rainy, wet days affords us very little comfort and I find that we fall on tv-perhaps too much. My chldren are 13, 10, 8and 6. Just looking for suggestions.. if you can find the time. thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI loved having all my kids at home for a little while. Yes, busy, but lovely.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to wish you the Best, Best for the New Year!
Annamaria :)
You are describing my home totally!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut my roses are red. :)w
You just made me feel a lot better! I've heard rumors that multiple children entertain each other, but these whisperings are unsubstantiated thus far. Today's Moment of Peace was brought to me by Lindt 90% chocolate, local cream earl grey and sewing a corduroy skirt.
ReplyDeleteAs always, a picture of a beautiful life.
ReplyDeleteGod bless,
Sonya, Australia
