Daisy's Winter Wardrobe, Dress Four
Brought to you yet again by the colors blue and brown, here is Daisy's final new winter dress. It's a sweet satiny cotton from the high-end quilting shop (on sale). Crossover front, frills on the 3/4 sleeves, and a round of robin's egg blue ribbon at the hem.
We had extraordinary luck with tights from Mini Boden--I got a $25 voucher in the mail, and after ordering tights in blue and brown, Boden ended up owing me $5!
I particularly adore these brown tights on her dainty legs because the tiny flash of blue at the heel puts me in mind of a lady mallard. They have all those quiet brown feathers, then on the wing just one little patch of iridescent purply-blue.
Well, congratulations, Daisy, on your lovely and well thought out wardrobe! You will look excellent wherever you go!

She has a lovely wardrobe...the colors suit her. Oh, and those tights? Love them!
ReplyDeleteLovely! The blue-brown aspect to Daisy's winter wardrobe is serene. I especially like the sleeve length choice...long enough to be warm, yet short enough to be practical.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet wardrobe and I love this flash of blue as well!
ReplyDeleteEspecially sweet!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy having a little girl to sew for and "dress up"!
I am a grown-up woman and I want to dress like Daisy.
ReplyDelete:)
She has wonderful taste!
This is a blue-brown loving girl for sure!! And they are all just adorable, as well as her accessories!!
ReplyDeleteAll ready for the Fall/Winter Season! Enjoy Daisy...

I didn't think I could like any dress for Daisy more than dress No.1 but, for me, this one wins by a hair! The sleeves are an especially nice touch. Daisy is a fortunate girl, having such a nice collection of dresses for this winter! :o)

oh you are so right about the flash of color. How sweet to think of your little girl that way too.
ReplyDeleteI adore blue and brown together.
Anna,
ReplyDeleteI've been out of the loop with your blog for quite a long time, but I'm delighted to see that you're back to regular blogging.
I can hardly believe how much Daisy has grown since I first "met" her through your blog several years ago. This dress (and the other ones you made for her) are just beautiful. She's a lovely girl.
May you have a peaceful, refreshing weekend!
A friend just told me about your blog. I was wondering if you could share what patterns you have been using?
ReplyDeleteI loved all of her fabric choices and just had to come back and look at her sweet dresses again. I think this one is my favorite. It's the frills on the 3/4 sleeves.
