Slightly obsessed with the barn owl's charms lately. Here's a pillow with a barn owl in a tree on the night of the winter solstice. Not sure you can see the big pale full moon, but it's there.
So much fun to work with felted wool textures. I cut up several coats and washed them til they were firm enough to work with. The images practically assemble themselves, and it all feels so good.
This one will be headed to etsy soon.
I don't mean to gush, but when I saw this it took my breath away. It is truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh!! I love your pillow. I hope I am home and see when it goes up. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.

What an adorable pillow! We are kind of obsessed with barn owls in our home, especially my daughter. How lovely this would look in her new owl bedroom when it is completed!
ReplyDeleteI will be looking on etsy constantly until it's there!
You are an artist! :)
Blessings,
Johanna
That is absolutely beautiful - so serene. I love the composition.
ReplyDeleteDo you 'upcycle' clothes that just have great fabrics, or do you use just the ones that are very outdated/in some way defective (holes etc) and so can't be used as a garment? I haven't yet been able to bring myself to cut up a piece of clothing, though I have many old pairs of jeans waiting in a stack to yield their good denim patches!

Hi Anna! I have been reading your blog for a while and I enjoy it tremendously! Have you ever read "The hidden art of homemaking" by Edith Scheaffer? Your blog (and I'm sure your life) just seems to breathe the message of this book... we are creative, because we are created in the image of the Creator God!

ReplyDeleteThough owls are trendy right, you've managed to capture the most elegant and magical quality of an owl.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your lovely barnowl pillow. I found it while I was searching for barnowl ideas for embroidery. I really loved it: it is so simple and endearing.
Thanks a lot!
