Little White Trees

My thrifting sorties have indicated that this holiday season I will be grouping little white trees together. Here we see the lightly spray-painted pine cone tree, the skinny curly white tree (Clara: "What's it for?" Me: "Nothing. It just is."), and the little linen trees I made a different year. A flocked forest.

  1. Your "just is" tree looks like a white version of one I own in pink. My mother bought it years ago for my oldest daughter. It has little wooden Easter ornaments that hang from its curly limbs in pretty pastel colors.

  2. How romantic and harmonious it looks! I've been lurking on your blog for quite some time now, but it's time I told you what an inspiration you are to me. You have a wonderful family and a beautiful home. But where do you get all the ideas?!

    Please, keep on writing.

  3. Wish I could see the linen trees better -- I do love linen! Here they sell this little metallic Christmas trees made out of twisted wire, sometimes with little jewel-like glass stones fixed in. Your plain white tree reminds me a bit of them. I kept promising myself that one year I'm going to get myself one as they are so unique. Problem is you have to bargain for them while driving down the street so not so easy.

  4. I am going to leave the same comment as Garden Girl...I have the same skinny, little white tree that is used at Easter, with little wooden eggs hanging from it. Guess I'll need to keep it out for winter now also, thanks for the idea, and dual purpose.
Also, I'm so glad you're back to sharing with us. I love your comments from books that you read, that are appropriate for the weather or subject matter, but how do you organize your thoughts? Do you have some kind of ongoing Journal that you jot down ideas as you read?

  5. That's very nice. I'm hoping to make some of those fabric trees this year.

  6. Those curly branches will have tiny things dangling off them by Christmas, I bet!
