Daisy picked me bouquet today of honeysuckle, red clover, and a lavender wildflower I can't name. The best part was that she wrapped the stems in a vintage hankie pinned with a safety pin.
False. The best part was her sweet face above the flowers.
False. The best part was finding her perched on a stool drawing the bouquet in her sketchbook.
I can't believe how grown up she is now. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe best part for me is that you shared this. How lovely! My children, being so young yet, don't quite have the florist in them yet, but I am daily supplied with dandelion bouquets. And yes, the beautiful faces above the bouquets truly is the best.
ReplyDeleteOh how adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh, my - such an earnest look!

So very sweet! Like the other Kate, I am still getting dandelion bouquets, but I love them. Little bits of sunshine!

Virginia Bluebell? Can't quite see the bloom :)
ReplyDeleteJust love these sweet little gestures of love. ::sigh::
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely mother's day gift!
ReplyDeleteThe bouquet is so pretty but the vintage hanky touch made it perfection. That Daisy is so creative! A sweet girl doing a sweet thing for her sweet mother - LOVE.
Daisy is truly her mother's daughter!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis so reminds me of my first daughter, Anna! The little ponytail, the dress, Daisy's slender build....that last picture just brought back a flood of memories. :o) Thanks for sharing this.

Delightful post and bouquet and even better the drawing!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to share something that occurred to me as I read the post: when I came to the portrait shot of Daisy I thought "isn't she getting to look like Bella!"
I thought I'd pass that on to all of you.
Well, you can hardly receive a nicer bouquet than delicious-smelling honeysuckle, red clover to put in with clothes to make them smell sweet and perhaps that third flower might be wild phlox? If it is, it smells wonderful, too! Offering it is your very own daughter...a wonderful Mother's Day present.
ReplyDeleteThat comment is funny, Rose. Your thought process is almost as muddled as mine!
Oh I think all 3 are precious!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful... by the way, I think the mystery flower might be Blue Toadflax. I used to pick it when I was little, too. I love the name!
ReplyDeleteHere's a description of blue toadflax: http://www.nearctica.com/flowers/scroph/Ncanad.htm
ReplyDeleteYour house is a photographer's playground.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely and so very grown-up Daisy looks in her new glasses.
