Anna, I love morning, and this picture is so appealing, I would love to jump right in. Did you do the slipcovering? Do you have any brief hints - your own or another author? Have another beautiful morning. Buttercup of the north
Beautiful. I love all the green plants in the room as well. We don't have any indoor house plants (except a dead rose bush) but a room like this is a good reminder to change that.
I did NOT do the slipcovering. It just seems overwhelming. But I like slipcovering so much that if I could do it myself, everything, even the plants, would probably be slipcovered.
That's my childhood dollhouse--although I called it a mouse house and played with stuffed mice rather than dolls. It was built by the same carpenter who converted this school into a house, and painted to match! The bedroom wallpaper even matched my bedroom.
How very special! What a treasure! So now I am curious..... did you grow up in the "school house" since your doll house was made to match it so closely?
I've been looking all over the internet for some sort of pretty wrap front dress, so that I can nurse in it, to wear to a conference next week. It took a while before I realized what I'm really after is the kind you are always making and showing and I don't think I will find that in a store.
(Sigh) Not enough time to sew, for me. I"m too slow.
Carrien, if it's any comfort, I'm not sure these wrap dresses would work very well. I always found that a skirt and blouse combo was the best choice for those years.

ReplyDeleteI was going to ask about the slipcovering, too - it does seem overwhelming, but I think someday I'm going to try it - someday!

Is that Daisy's doll house tucked in the corner? Did the Composer mske it? And if not, would you mind sharing where you found it? It is so adorable!
