This road is so much easier to go down the second time around. Is it the fact that he's already been living in a dorm for two years? That if we want, Daisy and I can hop over for the afternoon? That he's 18 instead of 17? That he's always happy? Or just that he's the second one to go?
Felix, Felix . . . you will do so well!
And I'll see you in a week, college boy!
Yay Felix! Have a great time at college.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was going to be precocious Daisy!
ReplyDeletewell, glad to hear it gets easier the second time around. My oldest is starting kindergarten and my feelings are so mixed.
God bless you in the coming year, Felix.

We are taking both of ours today. Empty nest...in 24 hours. Trying to just stuff back the emotions for now, but they are welling up. Hard but good times. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteHow marvelous. Go Felix! He will do SO well! I love this because I have a son who is 4 and reminds me of your descriptions of a younger Felix. Right down to the little-kid wardrobing choices (shoes and skivvies! Ha!)
ReplyDeleteIs Giles now living in NYC?
What an exciting time of life. For them, for you!
I think things really are easier the second time around. My second one is just going to middle school this year, not college, but I think the idea is the same.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time at college Felix- it seems you are well prepared!
Wonderful!! He'll do amazingly well. Kathi
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet brother-sister picture of Daisy and Felix:)
ReplyDeleteWe're taking our oldest to college on Wednesday-all the way across the country. She will be 18 in October and I don't know if I can bear not being with her on her birthday.
ReplyDeleteThis might seem pretty insane, but after looking through your blog I think I've fallen a little bit in love with Felix! Haha, the view through a glowing mother is always picturesque :)
ReplyDelete(And don't worry, I'm not some crazy stalker, I'm just an 18-year-old girl who also happens to be a hopeless romantic!)
