I never knew, because I never tried, that four-o'clocks make fantastic, fragrant cut flowers. Because the blooms only last a day, I never bothered with them indoors, but it turns out that even after cutting, the buds take turn opening in the vase, and I find my bunch lasts several happy days, with lovely scent.
Perfect for the lull before the leaves turn color.
I've never seen those, though I've heard of them.
ReplyDeleteI have these in my back yard! I planted them over 10 years ago and with no effort at all they keep coming back! I will use your suggestion to bring them in and enjoy them rather than seeing them as a negative! Thank you!

Thanks for this post. I have "four-o'clocks" in the backyard that spread from my neighbor's years ago. Never thought to cut and bring them in. I do like their fragrance and will now bring them in to enjoy. Sometimes it takes a nudge to think outside the box.
