Homestead Quilt, Complete
This quilt is finished! I hand-quilted it in a week, including hand-binding it. I hadn't realized that it's large enough to cover a twin bed--a nice surprise!
Should Giles choose to accept it, it's going back to New York with him.
I think this is perhaps my favorite of the quilts you have posted. I love the humble, earthy, wholeseome brown tones and the bright spark of blue in the middle. Amazing. I love it!
Another wonderful quilt! I do so love your ability to create such beauty from the leavings. When you do these lovely eclectic combinations of fabrics, mixing cottons and wool and such, is the quilt washable?
I wish Giles would choose to give it to some random lady on the internet. Namely, me. :) I think it is my favorite you've made so far. That turquoise square just captures my imagination!
If Giles isn't interested, I would be. :) Love the quilt and the title.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like his kind of thing.

Just beautiful Anna. I love how the turquiose (?) square on the quilt matches the bedside table.
ReplyDeleteLove the brown hues~some day, some day, I'll learn to quilt~

ReplyDeleteThat pop of turquoise in the midst of the browns and neutrals is just perfect.

Kimberlee, I would never make a quilt I wouldn't throw in the wash! They're for living on, not just looking at, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteOh So pretty... I know Giles will love it..
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anna. That's what I suspected you would say, just wasn't sure about washing the wools. :-)
ReplyDeleteReally nice quilt! Love those colors together!
ReplyDeleteDo you use a frame or a hoop when you quilt?
ReplyDeleteLove the pop of aqua!
