I know that I am a lucky woman, that this cat came to my deck from the great unknown and decided to love me. He's so big that he can lie with his front legs in my lap Sphinx-style and lean his head up against my shoulder. He's a yard long from nose to tail's end, and he weighs seventeen lean pounds.
Today he enthroned himself upon Daisy's sheepskin, and I heard Frederick practicing all four syllables of his name.
Magnificent.
He is beautiful. I can never decide if I am a dog person or a cat person, I change my mind the second I make the decision. Fitzwilliam makes two of my Oriental cat, Charlie.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that wonderful! The white on his paws is very neatly done.

He looks so much like Fritz, my cat growing up! Who was also huge, and gentle. We used to use him as a pillow.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Rose. When we had a cat, I wanted a dog. Now we have dogs, I want a cat.
ReplyDeleteMy husband tells the story of a parrot who could exactly the mimic the way the master called the dog to go out for a walk. Really tormented the dog!
What a handsome boy he is. I can never get enough of your post about him or Frederick.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight to be adopted by such a magnificent cat.
ReplyDeleteI think you are blessed! Maybe, we should say he is blessed to find such a great family.
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a beautiful Maincoon. Is he? The weight, the face and the size looks like he could be. Is his back legs longer than the front? Maincoons have such great personalities too!
He really is a gorgeous cat. I had the pleasure of having a cat about that large once. He was a fantastic lap cat.
ReplyDeletethis is my favorite post ever
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely Animal Planet moment. :)
