Packing Up the Baubles

Took down the Christmas goodies with a sigh today--it seemed to pass by so quickly. Usually I'm ready for the clean sweep, ready to get back to routine, but this year I'd be content to linger. The upside is that next Christmas will be here before I know it!

  1. Our decorations are still up but likely to be tucked away by the weekend. Then the cleaning and dusting begins in earnest.

  4. I used to have a bit of a sad sigh at how bare the post-Christmas house felt. So a few years ago I started setting aside the crisp white and blue snowman-themed items in my Christmas decor (including my morning coffee mugs), saving them for January. I've have slowly added to it via thrifting, and now my Januarys have a bit of extra decor--(but not too much!) It helps the transition from Christmas to New Year not feel so bare! :-)

  5. Some years I invoke the 12 days of Christmas and wait until January 6. Which, duh, is almost here! Gosh, time flies.

  6. We took ours down yesterday. It was kind of sad. I agree that this season passed by quickly. I think I may go to Target to get some new baubles!

  7. I'll be waiting until Epiphany... and then, I will probably feel as though I'm still not ready to pack things away! The Season really is all too short, I think. But, I'll give the place a good cleaning once everything comes down, & that's very satisfying. :o)

  8. I felt the same way this year. Usually so happy to put everything away, but this year the holidays passed in a flash.

  9. I think quite a few people have felt the same this year. I wonder why?
