Diamonds with Tassels
This is vintage Butterick 7150, some delicious vintage nonsense. Giant diamonds appliqued around the hem of your circle skirt, each with a *tassel*. Because why again?
Perhaps these skirts were intended for the ever-stylish gal who wished to match the event she was attending. I see the far skirt has Christmas trees on it; perhaps the diamonds with tassels are actually mortarboards and would be worn to a graduation party! ;-)
Are you making one of those for Clara?

No, but she used the pattern to make herself a circle skirt just out of woven cotton. No appliques or tassels.
ReplyDeleteThey look like mortarboards!
ReplyDeleteA quick look and they appeared to be mortar boards! For graduation? Very interesting!
ReplyDeleteFor graduation day, of course! :)
ReplyDeleteBecause why not!
ReplyDeleteThough I don't blame Clara for declining tassels!

ReplyDeletethese vintage details always crack me up. messages from another era and another way of thinking.
ReplyDeleteYou should work some Alabama Chanin magic with the diamonds. That could be awesome!
ReplyDeleteFor bridge parties, sillies!
