Suddenly keen to recreate the chapter in Little Women where Amy and Jo go out calling, Daisy outfitted herself in correct calling clothes, stocked her little bag with her calling cards, and headed out to the lady neighbors.
She had made herself some notes regarding correct calling etiquette (what to say, how long to stay, etc.) and that may by why her visits were so successful.
Or maybe the success was due to something else. Like her bonnet.
Now this post, I love!
ReplyDeleteMy money's on her cardigan. And the sweet heart inside it.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty outfit but I hope she also wore the coat from the Snowbird post!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Daisy was lady-like like Amy or rough house like Jo? I seem to remember all the pins came out of Jo's hair because she was playing with the little boys.
Looks as though the snow has gone and Spring has arrived with Daisy's bonnet. It reminds me of the story of Flora Mc Flimsey's Easter Bonnet - always a favourite. I used to have a strong urge to buy a new hat when Spring came and had one with a bunch of fabric primroses pinned to the brim. I wish I still had it.
ReplyDeleteI think she's got the perfect Easter outfit - now, I'm really longing for Spring!

Oh how I love the bonnet, but that feather and fan cardigan is precious!
ReplyDeleteI don't comment often but I must say this makes me miss my little girl!
ReplyDeleteWho is no longer little but a homeschooling mother of five children. :)
Okay, a question - is she accepting additional addresses?
ReplyDeleteHow utterly sweet.
ReplyDeleteAnd fun!
This so takes me back to my childhood, when I just had to play out scenes from my favorite books. My mother would play along with me and it was so much fun to "pretend". I remember Eight Cousins being a big favorite, and an Old Fashioned Girl.
Thank you, Daisy, for bringing it all back!
Or that adorable green sweater! I bet she made their week!
ReplyDeleteShe has the best ideas and execution. What a dear young lady she is.
ReplyDeleteAaahhh--the Louisa May Alcott years! So delightful to see Daisy enthralled with the world of "Little Women". :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it. Just sweet, sweet, sweet. :)
