An Easter Dress for Daisy

I started with New Look 0959 and laid the pattern pieces out on some handworked linen tablecloths my mother had given me. Each one had embroidered motifs in the corners which I tried to place artfully.

I lined the whole dress with ivory cotton voile, and also used the voile to make the inset band in the skirt, and the underskirt which was added for length. Sorry there's no picture of the front; it's just like the back.

  1. Beautiful! I love the combination of different shades of cream. It is both peaceful and refreshing somehow. By-the-by, that New Look pattern is still available, although it has been assigned a new number. I believe it is now 6259.

  2. Anna if someone else told me they were going to repurpose a tablecloth into a good dress for a little girl I would be raising my eyebrows. You, however, are the queen of domestic goods repurposing and this result is stunning.
