Another lovely quilt. I should have asked you before I went shopping, but what kind of sewing machine do you have (if you don't mind sharing)? My 32 year old Singer just "died" and I went hunting for another one.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who says things like that! Just today I told my son "I need to finish this skirt so I can sew something else!" (I'm AL Chanin-ing it, and the handsewing is taking a while!)
Melissa, I have the Viking-Husqvarna Emerald 113 (I think that's the right number--it's the lowest number). It's a great workhorse, no fancy bells and whistles but a solid set of basic skills for a reasonable price.
Oh, that's so nice to know about the sewing machine...that's the same one I just bought! (except I think it's number is 116). Of course now I have to buy a few of the accessories for quilting, but it's exciting to see what will come out of my new machine!
I love the color palette on this one. So sweet and soft. My goal this year was to complete all of my old Unfinished projects. Just today I finished the last undone quilt top. A happy day for me.
Melissa, I double-checked and I have the 118. Kimberlee, this is mostly current fabric (several cut-up dresses that served for a few years) and a few pieces of vintage stuff.
I piece my quilt tops on the machine. Wendu, congratulations on finishing projects! It's a great feeling.
I do like that one and I LOL at Clara's observation.
ReplyDeleteOh, it's beautiful!

ReplyDeleteOh, lovely, lovely! The soft hues of this one are beautiful. Are they new fabrics or do you have vintage linens in there too? So Grandmotherly.
