The girls were up and out early fishing with their grandfather this bright summer morning. I stayed home and made these things:
ice
tea
cleaning spray
tea
cleaning spray
wheat flour
pickles
chicken stock
tomato sauce
applesauce
Then I cleaned the kitchen.
So they had a cold drink with ice when they got back, bread and pickles (in the salad) with the fish they caught, followed by applesauce as dessert? Darn it, I missed the tomato sauce. ;)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Rose, the fish weren't biting. They caught one small perch that they threw back. Though I hear Grandpa had quite the bass on his line before it got away.
ReplyDeleteHow do you make wheat flour?
ReplyDeleteI'm cleaning the kitchen tomorrow - I hope I'll be as productive as you.

You had a busy day! Although, I love being in the kitchen... I think I would have been a stowaway with the girls.

Would you share how you make your cleaning spray? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteJeannie--I grind wheat berries in a countertop grinder (electric).
ReplyDeleteCleaning spray--1 cup of white vinegar, 2 cups of water, 2 T. baking soda, and several drops of tea tree, lemon, and eucalyptus essential oil. Stir this in a large bowl (you will get the "volcano" foam) and when it subsides, pour it into a spray bottle. Excellent all-purpose cleaner.
I was just about to ask about the cleaning spray. Thanks for sharing here in the comments.
ReplyDeleteYou're so productive!
