Bella left yesterday for a semester working at an orphanage overseas. She'll be back for the holidays and then return to spend the spring semester there also--and she's so ready for this adventure.
She navigated the international airports gracefully and arrived safely this afternoon, and I know that anyone who saw her saw a beautiful self-possessed young lady with a plan.
Only her mother saw a spunky four-year-old driving off in a car made of Duplos.
Blessings to Bella on her big adventure! I understand being a momma sending her girl off to another country for months at a time. And when someone asked me if I was worried my daughter being so far away, the unplanned answer that flew out of my mouth was, "The safest place for her to be is in the center of God's will." Aahh...definitely a truth I could rest in.
ReplyDeleteAhhh cute.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to Bella for this very special time in her life. It probably seems a long time until Christmas Anna but it will be gone before you know it.
ReplyDeleteTime passes so quickly, doesn't it...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great plan, Bella! :-)
What a girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable picture! I'm sure it will be very quiet now at the Schoolhouse with "just Daisy".
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great opportunity! I know you're very proud of her.

Praying for her transition into a new culture, and for her safety and fruitfulness while she's there.
ReplyDeleteYour babes have the best adventures. I pray that Bella is safe and happy and enjoys her work there. Wow, to go from 5 children to 1 at home is such a transition.
ReplyDeleteLife changing experience!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! Bon voyage, Bella! We know you will be a big help to all the children there.
ReplyDeleteI know you will be blessed, Bella! And of course the children will be. warmly from Mary Brooke in Atlanta
ReplyDeleteGood on Bella! What an experience! But yes, how quickly they grow up. I would love to hear your thoughts some time of how your children have figured out "what to do next". We are close to that stage now, with first child having just one year left of school.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear of Bella's safe arrival, and to know that you will see her at Christmas. I smiled at her picture. It reminded me of one of O. in his Fisher Price car which I think I posted after he passed his driving test. And now my eldest is a father. How can that be possible?
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile. My father always tells me that he still sees me as a four-year old in pigtails much of the time....even though I am *considerably older.*
ReplyDeleteI hope Bella has a wonderful time...and that she does plenty of singing.
Yes. I am relating to this. How did they get from spunky four year old to young woman in a blink of an eye? {sigh} God is so good, all of the time.
ReplyDeleteOh my!! I haven't visited here in a while!! Bella is old enough for this!! WOW time has flown!! I do hope she will share with us of her adventure when she is home.
ReplyDeleteHis,
