His Mercies! They Are New Every Morning!

Fitzwilliam came home this morning! Doped on, as the vet said, enough diazepam to take down an elephant. I'm supposed to shut him in the bathroom to sleep off his drugs, but for now he is curled up so soundly asleep in his so-favorite chair by the fire, I can't bear to move him. When he wakes up, and starts tearing around the house in a frenzy--that's when we'll talk about the bathroom.

Thank you, my friends all over the world, for praying for this dear creature who is restored to me.

  16. Anna, I read your last two posts in immediate succession. I started to pray for you and FW after reading about the accident, then I decided to read the most recent post. So glad everything is going better today! Such an honest mistake; we all have our share of similar oopses, I'm sure. I recall the time my husband and I were very ill with high fevers, and had accidentally left a closed bottle of ibuprofen on the back of the couch. My young kids came into our bedroom and said they had eaten our "spicy candy" and it was yucky! We called poison control while putting our shoes on to leave for the ER and after investigating further, discovered they had spilled most of them behind the couch and spit the chewed ones out. Poison control said our toddler would've had to ingest 18 or more pills to be in danger. That was a scary day we'll never forget!

  25. So glad for you...but remember, you did nothing he had to forgive....you weren't malicious or careless, and you were trying to take care of him. Just a horrible turn of events that is having a happy ending. Kind regards from someone who has enjoyed your slice of blogdom for years.

  28. Oh, I'm so relieved! And I've triple-checked the antihelminthic I have to give Isla this weekend to make sure it's the right dosage for the right-sized cat.

Looking forward to lots of FW pictures in the days and weeks and months to come.
