Towards the Barn, at Dusk
I went down to the barn with Daisy at dusk to hold the flashlight while she shut the chickens up and coated Sullivan the Rooster's comb with Vaseline--to protect it from frostbite.
I have not heard of using vaseline to protect rooster combs before. I will mention it to a couple of friends who keep chickens. It is currently -20C here so they are likely shut up in their insulated and heated coop so they might not need it. Worth a mention anyway! :)
Now that's a use for Vaseline I never thought of before!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that Vaseline provided that protection!
ReplyDeleteI saw the same moon here in the southern hemisphere on Wednesday evening about 15 hours before you wrote this post. :)

ReplyDeleteLovely moon! And you are a very good mama :-)
ReplyDeleteLove these glimpses into the country life.
