In June I filled in a couple of holes in my front planters with lantana volunteers that had sprung up in my big circle flower bed. Now each plant is about five feet across and hosts a constant kingdom of moths and butterflies. Also the blooms are nonstop and number in the hundreds.
Never have I seen lantana this overgrown - just marvelous! My red coleus is twice its usual height this summer, near 3 feet. I'm thinking I'll take some cuttings and see if I can get it rooted indoors over the winter to put out next spring.

ReplyDeleteInteresting, I'm not sure what species your lantana is, but Lantana camara in Australia is a declared noxious weed,is poisonous to stock, and almost impossible to get rid of. Not the sort of thing you want in your garden here.
