This has been issuing forth from the typewriter lately. The cats submit their questions and Miss Manners answers. Above: "When can you bite a lady's legs?" (probably submitted by Fitzwilliam, who is known to turn on those he loves).
Below: "What are the rules for sitting on a hotpad?" (likely from Lucy Gray, who recently sat on my sewing project and covered it with bits and fur.)
Dear Miss Manners~
ReplyDeleteI'm so very impressed with the Winston Churchill quote!
He also said one of my personal favorites:
"Success is never found.
Failure is never fatal.
Courage is the only thing."
~Winston Churchill
Very witty!
ReplyDeleteChurchill also said a cat looks down on man, a dog looks up to man, but a pig will look man in the eye and see his equal.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, this is awfully cute, and I hope Fitzwilliam take Miss Manners' advice - we also have a cat here who attacks the legs. I am wondering, though, why the hedgehog is allowed to sit on the hotpad.

My twenty year old daughter who is away at school for the first time this fall, and with whom I have shared sweet moments from Pleasant View over the years, just sent me a message saying, "Mummy, please look at Pleasant View. Daisy is my kindred spirit!"
ReplyDeleteShe was one who asked for an old fashioned typewriter in her mid-elementary school years - I still have a few of the treasures that were typed on that machine, and clearly this post reminded her of those happy hours.
This is so fun! I love her answers. :)
ReplyDeleteVery witty indeed! Christina
ReplyDeleteHer description of the "steaming Dutch oven pot"... is just too precious!
ReplyDeleteThis is the best thing I've seen on the internet this week. Carry on, Daisy!
ReplyDeleteThis is marvelous.
ReplyDeleteFaithful lurker here for many years. This one gets a comment. Daisy is such a hoot! And the hedgehog ... clearly he would scratch the table, hence the hot pad. Haha. Daisy is so clever.
ReplyDeleteA dimension we might not have observed before. Witty indeed. Churchill would have. Approved, I think :) Kira
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood writing, Daisy!! And good analysis of the issues, too: it is indeed true that the rules tend to vary depending on who and what you are. But my favorite thing is the perfect tone....very Miss Manners. (And the list of can sit/can't sit is instructive, too.)
ReplyDeleteI've read this post several times because it's so fun. Makes me smile every time.
