Scenes from a Snow Day
Mad bird activity all day at the feeder--fat red cardinals, bossy bluejays, and an entire flock of red-winged blackbirds ascending into the maple tree then down on to the feeder for more . . .
Busy girls inside--Clara and a friend drawing, Daisy with a tiny tea set, and me, forced out of the sewing room by the icy weather . . .

I was showing my daughter Lauren the picture of your table....it is exactly the kind I would like to have....she said "OH WOW!!! Now I know how she does all those projects with having so many children....they all set at the same table."
I never thought of it that way, but she is right!!! Gee, I really DO need a table like that since I can't seem to even get a shower in somedays and I have an 18 year old helping me with a 3 year old and an almost 11 month old.....I must REALLY be doing something wrong! hee hee.

I just LOVE your table...and the fact that four people can be together but take part in individual activites within their own spacious space.
Oh-and I LOVE that stained glass window. I have always wanted stained glass windows in my house. Of course, I suppose getting a house of our OWN would be first and foremost! :-)
Oh, that is exactly the kind of table I want! DH is working on plans to build one, but it will have to wait as our current dining room is tiny. Someday! We have had terrific visits from the birds too, a whole flock of robins spent the better part of the afternoon in our front yard yesterday. I had never seen so many in one place, there must have been thirty of them!
Longtime reader here, I want you to know your blog is so encouraging. I always leave it and go "fluff up" some room in my house. You continually inspire me to further beautify my home!

I was checking your blog while my three-year-old dallied through her dinner, and just thought I'd let you know that she really likes Daisy's new apron. She was thrilled that it's just like the one I made her last week, only different colors. :) BTW, I do like your table too. I am looking forward to the day when my diningroom is big enough to fit one like that in it!

You love my table! It's very special to us--my mother had it custom-built locally (in 1978?) by a workshop that employs handicapped people. It's nine feet long, has matching benches, is made of soft pine, and I love it too!
Oh, such a lovely scene...I like to collect cardinals (not real ones! Lol) The second picture really took me back. My grandmother had a HUGE victorian home with a stained glass window in her house almost exactly like this. To open the window, you pushed OUT on the bottom. I can remember looking out onto the garden from under the tilted window as a small child. Love the table, too.
Count me in as loving your table...what I love even more is seeing you and the girls sitting there together...how precious! That would make a beautiful black and white photograph, blown up pretty large and framed in a shabby frame...and when your daughters are grown, they could show their children...it just reminds me of that kind of photograph. I admire you for that picture and what it depicts. Blessings!
