Stuffed Elephant
I am having to re-think my identity--apparently I am now Someone Who Makes Stuffed Animals. This is all new to me. But seriously, who wouldn't be enchanted by the idea of this elephant, when they came across it in Erica Wilson's For the Baby book?
I've had this book for years and have hardly used it for anything, scarred as I was by my mother flipping through it and saying, "Oh, these aren't very good directions." Sure enough, when I came to sew the elephant, I found that the directions said, "Sew pieces together." Thanks, Erica!
This is the mother. She's about six inches tall, and made of an old cotton shirt. Her tail is three strands of cotton yarn braided together. And she's getting some babies this weekend.

My daughter brought home a Debbie Bliss book from the library....after I get my first knitting project done, I'll send you a picture. It could be years, but I'll get it done!! hee hee.

So, adorable!
I love it!
I wouldn't get very far with those kinds of instructions!
I have that book! And I don't think I've made anything from it either. Your elephant is cute.
Adorable elephant!
I just happened upon your blog yesterday. What a breath of fresh air. Just lovely.
She's beautiful. I think you did a great job with the direction. :D
