A Birthday Trifle

Clara made me a birthday trifle instead of a layer cake: chocolate cake, whipped cream, and raspberry jam, with fresh raspberries on top. It tasted just as good as it looks.

I would much prefer a trifle to a cake! It must have tasted divine, for it looks amazing! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Anna! What a lovely dessert - yum! We often hope a cake will 'flop' just so we can make trifle! So elegant and delicious! What a sweet cut glass bowl to put it in! I hope your day was filled with all the things that delight your heart! Blessings!

I have to take time before leaving for church to wish you a belated happy birthday. Your prose...your son's pictures...make a lot of us smile.

I love the idea of the trifle. My late father-in-law always had a birthday pie. :)

Happy Birthday, Anna! The trifle looks too pretty to eat, but too tasty to miss.

Hi

I came to you via Little Jenny Wren who nominated you as one her favourite bloggers! Happy birthday! There is no greater food than trifle.

Happy Belated Birthday!

One year I made jeweled fruit tarts for my mother in laws birthday, since she does not like cake.

Sometimes the best things come from thinking outside the box. Good job Clara!

Happy belated birthday!! Trifles are so yummy. :) I think I have only commented a few times before, but I really enjoy your blog--it is a lovely place to visit, and I love the glimpses into your life. Giles' photography is amazing, too.

My baby girl just turned one yesterday (29th) so it has been a birthday weekend for us, too. So much fun!

Happy Birthday Anna. I turned 40 on the 27th of April. It is Autumn here in Australia. You have a Spring birthday and I have an Autumn one. My children are all little so I cooked my birthday dinner but it was still special. I can't wait until my daughters can cook for me.
