Brick and Mortar for Free

Giles got his ACT score on Thursday.
We called the university with it on Friday.
On Monday they called back and offered him a scholarship.

Today he had his interview, and after half an hour, signed the acceptance into the university honors program. The program pays all his tuition, his room and board (although he'll be living at home, he can have lunch on campus), and a $1000 stipend for the year.

Fantastic!

What an amazing bit of news! It just shows that hard work from both student and mom/teacher can result in a child doing well. Double blessings, Giles being able to go to college, and no cost to boot. God Bless.

I hope that your son is really ready for university schooling. College is so much more than simply having a great high entrance score. He will be leaving homeschooling and childhood behind early. May all truly be happy.

I know there are many of us interested to know more about your homeschooling life...schedules, books used, philosophy, etc. This would be a wonderful time to share how you manage your busy life and turn out such successful students. Thank you for all your inspiration in many areas.

WOW!! Congratulations to teacher and student both...and to the whole family!! I have no doubt that those results come from a family atmosphere of support, love for one another, and a love for learning.

I second what Barbara wrote. I'd love to know more about your approach to homeschooling.

Very, very impressive. And inspirational. What will his major be? Photography?

Also wondering .... I know that your children do a lot of independent work, but what curriculum do you follow?
