(Not pictured from today: haircuts, cello lesson, guitar lesson, picking up grandmother and running her errands, twelve loads of laundry, post office, and picking up all of Daisy's toys).
Well, Davene, the laundry was my fault. I always do all the sheets and towels on Mondays, and on top of that I decided to wash all the new sheets (six sets) that I just bought to replenish my sad linen closet. That added up!
You mentioned Daisy and her toys. Do you limit the amount of toys that you children have? From some of the pictures of their bedrooms I don't see the usual storage bins. (smile) Do you have a system? Kim
Kim-- My big kids are mostly past their toy years. They do still love legos, puzzles, games, and dress up (the girls). We keep the games close to the dining table in a cabinet. The legos and dress up trunk are in our upstairs toy room, where things can be spread out and left for a few days at a time without being in the way. We have A LOT of legos.
Daisy isn't all that interested in toys, but she does enjoy her baby dolls and their equipment. Those mostly live in a couple of laundry baskets that are kept in the laundry room. This is also our school room, and opens to the kitchen, so it's nice and central for playing. Her toy kitchen is in her room, and she likes it, but her room is super-tiny-pocket-size, and doesn't hold much else.
I had to laugh because I immediately thought,"you picked up all of Daisy's toys at once, wow, you're strong". Sorry...silly brain! (We've been listening to Pooh stories on tape and my mind is a bit bear-like right now!) hehehe
I'm glad to hear that not every blog mom has a completely "picked up" house all the time. We have a downstairs toy room that often gets forgotten in the craziness of only having littles and sometimes it heaps guilt on me that I don't get to it as I should. So, I'm glad to hear that others are in the same place. Thanks for sharing life.
The shade of blue on the walls looks beautiful in the photo! Do you mind sharing its name?
I'm in the tinkering phase of a decorating job and considering a similar accent wall (only). December through March up north are very grey months so that's why only an accent, as opposed to a totally blue room.
As a mother of five myself, I can completely sympathize with you on the occasionally supersized laundry days. My husband came home from a weekend trip, so I feel like I have become best friends with the washer and dryer, between the usual Monday towels and sheets, plus Mr. H.'s camping gear and clothes. The good thing is that I usually only have one or two loads to do on the next couple of days after.
twelve loads of laundry! anna, please share your laundry system with me. I have a family of four and i still can't seem to get a grip on it! i would love to hear any tips you have!

Ah, the wonderful part of blogging! We don't have to post pics of dirty laundry piles...just beautiful photos of organized life. :)
But, wow, 12 loads??? That is a whole lot of laundry!!! :)
We're enjoying pomegranate season here as well. And I do about that much laundry every two to three days.

This is for Deb Meyers...Glidden has/had a color called Billowing Clouds that looks very similar to this wall color. You might check it out.

Your days sound a lot like mine. :)
Deb, I used a shade from Lowe's line called Duck's Egg--and must admit that the name was a deciding factor in my bird-loving son's room!
smile : ) Ducks have that color egg? Live and learn!
thanks, and happy Thanksgiving Day to your family.
