Daisy Has a Cello

The first thing to do was to put on a fancy skirt and add an extra hairbow. Then we wrote out the check and Daisy folded it up into her own wallet.

Then we drove to Yoshio's house, where Daisy paid for the cello herself. Out of her own wallet.

When we got home, it was time for the first lesson. We learned good cello posture, and how to keep our thumb on the fingerboard. When we're not using that thumb. For thumb-sucking.

Now we're working on a song. It's called "Ants".

Oh how precious! Today in my daughters violin class there was this teeny little 3 year old in their learning to play. It was just too cute.

The darling!
My baby is just on 2 1/2, too -- maybe it's time?

I agree with Laurel, her little fingers are so sweet on such a big instrument. It is so nice to be given such a special view into your homelife. God Bless.

Anna,

The title of your post and the darling text and photos accompanying it make me feel like there's a children's story book to be written somewhere:).

That little hand--how sweet! She's on her way, in a family that sounds wonderfully musical.

How precious! My little one sucked her thumb, too. She held the blankie in the same way, too.
Precious memories being made at your house these days!

That is the cutest thing ever!
I wish that I lived close to you so that Clara could teach me. I am getting a cello tomorrow, but am teaching myself.
I would love to hear some of her songs!

Adorable! Thank you for sharing these sweet moments in the life of your family.

Would you be willing to share where you bought her cute little bracelet?

How very cute! What nice photos too. I thought I would tell you that I'm featuring Wildflowers in Winter on my blog. Each week there is something different to do. There is one week focusing on wildflowers and fabric. I think you might like it. There is also a wildflower art contest for children. Come on over for details. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I love the bow. And the thumb :). I gave you a little "award" on my blog. Thank you for all of your beautiful posts!

I agree with Krista! That could be the makings of a lovely little children's book. Just keep taking some pictures as she learns for a while and you'll have it right there.

Ooh, very cool! I'm sure Daisy will have the best teacher. ;-) Sisters are quite understanding.

Oh what a cherished picture this will be of her tiny hand position. What a blessed little girl to start this young. Maybe we can listen to "Ants" when she has mastered it?

I can totally relate to her wanting to put the check in her own wallet to pay. My 3 1/2 yr. old Jack would want to do the same...so independent!
Congrats to Daisy!
Blessings,
Leslie
