Daisy Needed a Bonnet

. . . to truly be Mabel from Pirates of Penzance. Having no bonnet experience, I extemporized.

I had a toddler sundress pattern with a brimmed hat pattern in the packet, and used the basic triangle-repeated-six-times to make the crown. I lined it with an identical skull-cup shape, and added the pretty frill in between the layers before sewing the lining to the hat. Turned it right side out, inserted a little elastic at the back, then trimmed with rosebuds.

A blushing bud of ever-blooming beauty, if I ever saw one.

She is just way too cute, don't you think?

I'd like to see the back of the bonnet.

Beautiful! I think she looks very much like Clara in that second photo.

Daisy is losing her baby-face.

I can't believe how much she has grown. She has definitely entered the kid phase. Still, such a beautiful girl, and a beautiful bonnet too. God Bless.

The bonnet is just as cute as the little girl under it.

My Daisy is growing up so fast though! I'm sure just yesterday she was an itty bitty toddler and now she's looking just a little bit older.

Soooo sad... *sniff*. I wish they'd stay so cute for a little longer!

What a great idea!

She looks like she loves it, too. :)

Good grief, not only do you have outstanding photography and sewing skills but your model there is the cutest thing ever!

Just beautiful! Both the bonnet and the little lady! She looks so sweet in that shade of pink.

Daisy is just precious in this picture and prettier than the rose she is holding. Being partial to little girls is not uncommon for me as there are only girls in my family. The bonnet is beautiful also, and if anyone
can see this combination and not have a better day, then they need to do an inventory of themselves.

Just lovely,
Ms. Dale

Anna,
The other day I shared your blog with my 84 year old Mom. She was so excited to see the patterns and beautiful things you've made. She wondered if you could tell her where you find the old patterns.
We are both just enchanted with all your lovely posts.
